Sam: Fitness First cost P1850 a month... it's a little steep but it's really worth it naman. Read your blog, sana nag-bid ka nalang for him, hehe.

Tiring day today, but had fun. I'll try to summarize it since i'm v. tired, not to mention sleepy *yawn*.

Woke up late and missed meeting with Grace and Cliff at Mcdo 8am. I also missed the 6:30 aerobics class I was supposed to attend at Fitness First. Darn.

Had a test at Fr. Dacanay's class, and I felt good after submitting the paper because I knew I got the answers. that is, until I realized that, in haste, I forgot to put my friggin name on the paper! Felt like hitting my head on the cement. I talked to Fr. D after class, and I was already shaking because Fr. d has a notorious reputation for being strict. I knew he wouldn't forgive my mistake. My fears were not unfounded because Fr D. told me i'd be getting an F for that slight mistake. I promise you, I had to restrain myself from pounding my head on the cement *stupid, stupid*.

After that, I took pictures and got the interview sheet of those people i'll be featuring in my young entrepreneurs article for next week. Then Grace, me and Imo headed to the Central Bank Museum and the National Museum in Manila to check it out for our History 165 class. We left the musuems after 3 hours and went to Podium for the GenTXT fashion show, which I covered with Angela. Met up with Angela first at Megamall before going to the fashion show.

The fashion show was already starting when we got there. Won't be going to details, I'll just highlight some things:
- Just realized how hard it is to take pictures of a fashion show, especially when one is using a digicam with a battery that is almost running out
- Anj and I were given two free tickets to the Lord of the Rings premier two weeks from now! We interviewed this Globe official and Anj mentioned that she would love to see the premier. Well, the official probably fgot the hind and, in no time, whipped up two tickets for us. Wheeee! Now, Anj and I have a date on Dec 18
- Gorgeous, gorgeous models. Anj, Grace and I had our own favorites. My type looked hunk-dory and all that while Angela's and Grace's (they had the same favorite) looked like a cute boy-next-door.
- Stayed there for five hours, along with Grace and Anj (Imo left at 6pm) and it really really drained me. It was also disappointing that they didn't provide us food (and we couldn't leave to eat or else we might miss something) but, oh well, that's work
- It's too bad I didn't see anyone there whom I know personally, except maybe for Tim Yap who dropped by for a while to check out his friends
- On a side note, saw this old classmate of mine at Podium, whom I had a teeny crush on before, on my way home, and was shocked to see that he has a girl already. The thing is, the guy (my ex-crush) wasn't that cute but, wow, the girl was a babe!

Better end it because I'm seeing double already. I guess that's my body's way of telling me that I better hit the sack. At least all these activities has cured my insomnia, diba?

Ok, I've done it. I finally enrolled at Fitness First. My only glitch about the place is that it's a bit too far from my house.. but everything else about it is just nice, nice. They have a myriad of aerobic classes including yoga, pilates and kick boxing; luxurious shower rooms with free toiletries, drier, spacious lockers and hot and cold showers; sauna; members lounge where you can catch up on your reading (yes, they have reading materials there) and watch movies; drink all you can iced tea and soda (not that i'm going to do a lot of drinking since it will simply defeat my purpose of going there); VCDs you can borrow for free and a cardio theater system. But most of all: lots of eye candy.

I think I'm gonna enjoy working out there.

Hate writing but love history...class that is

I'm having second thoughts now whether overloading the extra writing class was worth all the hassle. I thought the subject would be light, easy and breezy, not to mention fun and educational, but it turns out that we have a taxing workload with writing assignments every week- add that to the assignments I have for the publications I write for and the other subjects which also require writing (such as blasted philo, theo and history) equals one dead me. It's not that I don't like writing, but you know what they say about too much of a good thing...

And also, I don't like my writing teacher. Sure he's not a bore, thank God for that, but he's somewhat annoying. Really. So sorry to his fans, and I'm sure he has them. It's so sad that the Comm dept has a dearth of print journ teachers, not saying that my current teacher is all that bad but I want sana a new teacher. And anyway, I'm not sure if I'm learning anything from him which I haven't learned from his previous class(ok fine, it's just the first three weeks of classes, let's give him a chance). And I get the feeling that he doesn't like me too (o diba? the mutual admiration kami, hehe). Paano ba naman, tawagin ba naman halos lahat sa class except ikaw for recitation almost every time. And it's also not because he doesn't know me because I've been his student already before. Well actually I'm not that bothered by that, really, it's just that sitting down for three hours listening to him lecture about his "theories" and cracking his corny jokes saps my energy big time. Wala pa akong close friend sa class to lighten the burden. Parang hindi na tuloy fun, and I'm afraid I've just wasted my money and time which I could've spent on more productive things like, say, a gym membership.

Well, to be fair, the teacher is quite funny sometimes, and, um,some of his others "theories" are fresh insights and...ano pa ba...oh and he's a good writer. But I still want out.

Haaay, there's no use ranting because I'm stuck with that writing class for the rest of the sem. The worst thing about it is that the rest of my subjects are just as bad, except perhaps History. So far, I've enjoyed all my History classes conducted by Ambeth Ocampo. Yun nga lang it's so cold in his classroom! Brrrrrrr. He keeps it that way, according to Imo, because he noticed that his students paid more attention to class and are less noisy when it is cold.

Grace and I were really fortunate to be able to transfer to Mr. Ocampo's class. It's really refreshing to learn Philippine History from a genuine Philippine historian... I've had it with teachers who take everything written at the history books as gospel. This Friday, Gracie, Imo and I are going to the National and Metropolitan Museums for history class. Tuloy na tayo, ha?

Oh and can somebody help me upload my pics? Apparently, it doesn't appear on the blog as it's supposed to. Pretty please?

Gym bunny for a day

Congratulations are in order--I succesfully completed one work out session.

Went with Sheila to Fitness First this morning, and man, can I just say that that is one fine gym. Am thinking of enrolling there, much to my mom's glee. It's too bad that the place is a bit far (It's in Libis) from my house, although Grace pointed out that it's near school naman. We'll see. I'll keep you guys updated.

Was surprised to see the Youngblood article published today. Thanks Sam for including it in your blog.:) The essay was originally an assignment for my Creativity Class last sem, and then Grace told me that I could probably submit it to Youngblood.

***
You're right Sam, blogging is addicting. Huy, I wasn't able to read your article last Wednesday. My cousins got the 2bu pages and I never saw them again *Sniff.* Send mo sa akin, nabasa daw ng friend ko.

***
Imo and Rom dropped by my house kanina. They decided to take a side (and food) trip at my house since they were conducting interviews for their Theo project in my neighborhood. Imo was disappointed that I didn't seem surprised to see them ambushing me, hehe. Sanayan lang.

I took pictures of them in our garden using my new digicam. The pictures looked fabulous, I'll post them soon when I learn how to post pictures in the blog (Help anyone?).

So young, so sad

I watched Harry Potter for the second time a while ago at Shangri-la with my mom, sister and cousin. My younger brother Bingo was originally supposed to go with us when he suddenly received a phone call. It was his classmate telling him that another classmate of his, whom he is close to and who frequents to our house, just died. What a shock it must've been for him. When I heard this, I felt goosebumps all over even though I don't know the kid. It was enough that he was my brother's friend.

My brother then rushed to his friend's wake. Later news revealed that he commited suicide.. that shot himself. Unbelievable since he was only in high school.

When these things happen, I suddenly become aware of my own mortality and those also of my loved one's. And you know what scares me? The waiting. You are not sure when it will happen, just certain that it will. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. But I don't want it to happen yet-- just not at the moment. Please. Wait till we are all ninety and senile.

Sometimes, I get frightening thoughts that someone important to me has... it's too scary to even say. When I was in Canada last summer, I occasionally had paranoid thoughts that the phone will ring and the caller will inform me that something bad has happened to my family or friends back home. I wonder if our maids experience the same thing--are they scared of the possibilty that something wrong might have happen to their families or friends back in the province?

What frightens me about death is how powerless we are over it, once it decides. We are walking time bombs and often we don't realize it. Often, we think we are invincible. It's being vulnerable to something you don't fully understand that's so scary.

I sometimes wonder how it feels when you exhale your last breathe. Does it hurt? Is dying painful? Then what's next? Will any of us know--that is, while we are still alive?

I'm babbling distraught thoughts, don't mind me. I'm still shocked over what happened. I usually hear things like this happen to other people, but now it seem more real because it hit me closer to home.

It's time to work out...Ugh

After demolishing several pieces of Hershey's Kisses an hour ago, I suddenly received a phone call from Sheila. My dear friend called me up to remind me about my promise to begin exercising and to prod me to start going to the gym again. How thoughtful (no, I'm not being sarcastic). My HS barkada's a sweet lot the way they are so concerned that I am ballooning up. Actually, everyone seems so concerned about my weight--my mother, most especially. Evereyone, that is, except for me.

Can I just ask, why is this weight business such a big deal? I mean sure, being overweight (or underweight for that matter) is bad for one's health, state of being and blah blah blah ; what I don't get is why the way one weighs becomes the constant center of conversations. And I do mean always. *Groans*

I mean, if you so much as lose or gain 5 pound, expect a flurry of comments about it from friends and foe alike. We live in a society that couldn't help but talk about weight--especially other people's.

For instance, if you pay closer attention during gatherings and reunions, you'd certainly hear snippets of conversations like this:
"Oy, parang tumataba ka yata!",
"Diba dati sexy ka, anong nangyari?"
"Tignan mo si (person's name), diba taba-taba niyan dati?"
"Grabe, ang sexy na ni ano....um, nag-bangkok kaya siya? O lipo?"
Promise, you just cannot go to a gathering without hearing how thin/fat so-so and such-such has become. (Don't mind me, I'm just being bitter).

Oh but I'm not giving excuses for my lack of interest to work out. Where was I again? Oh, yeah, Sheila's phone call. Anyway, to prod me to begin working out, Sheila asked me to go with her tomorrow at Fitness First in Libis. She just enrolled in the gym, which she said looks posh and state-of -the-art, so that those people working out would not associate their gym to a drab, stinking place you are forced to go in order not to be talked about at reunions (sorry, being bitter again...). On the contrary, my friend said this particular gym looks like that of a hotel's, and I'd be going there tomorrow to attest to her claims. Yup, that's right I not only agreed to go with her but I also agreed to work out with her (she is allowed to bring in a guest for a day only).

My friend is excited for her first work out tomorrow. If only I could share her enthusiasm. A long time ago, I was just as giddy as her about working out...about the prospect of being healthier. But now, I'm just tired, sluggish and drained-- the effects of months of living a sedentary and unhealthy lifestyle. I just want to get it over with. I know it's not a nice attitude but that's the way I'm feeling. Who knows, maybe my outlook will change tomorrow once I feel my heart thumping with fresh oxidized blood coursing through my veins (And we all know that fat burns in oxygen) Maybe I'd feel different once I begin with my work out.

My body tells me that it's time to start changing my lifestyle habits. But being the procastinator that I am, I keep postponing it till tomorrow. The problem is, I've been postponing it for months now. Procastinating is such a nasty habit-- that's another thing I have to work on. But one nasty habit at a time.

Well, I'm off to sleep early tonight so I can wake up early tomorrow for my work out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this time, it's finally going to work. Thank you Sheila for making me take that first step.

Like Sam, I'm thinking of putting up another blog to house my literary and published works. Hmmm...

Can somebody help me with this HTML business? I want to put links of other friends' blogs at the side of the entries, right below the E-mail Me sign. Anyone care to help the computer inept me?

I'm gorging on Hershey's Kisses right now.

I know, I know, don't give me that look.

Mommy brought home a kilo of those drasted chocolates from her recent trip to the US. And she's expecting me to lose weight with those little monsters (albeit, delicious little monster) lying loosely around the house?

Hah!

Trying to lose weight can be such a tragedy. *Sniff*

I'm here at the lib computer terminals and a super hot blond guy with piercing blue eyes just walked in *drool*... must be one of those french exchange students.

Imo is right behind me at another terminal trying to ressucitate her old blog.

I want to go home but the driver is not yet here. Feeling v. groggy due to lack of sleep (fyi, I only slept for 2 hours). Ended up waking a wee bit late today and because of that, daddy got so mad (he has this thing about me being late) and made me take the cab on the way to wchool even though we had spare vehichles and drivers. Hmp. I guess he feels that by making me take the cab, he's teaching me a lesson about tardiness (if you're late, you have no driver and car to take you to Ateneo!) but it is actually just a 100 bucks down the drain for cab money. And I end up being more late. Ended up cutting my 7:30 am Philo class.

Sigh, why did this semester began with such an awful start.

Yipee, the driver's here. Going home to get some Zzzz's. Will continue later.

I am a STORY TELLER

I am a natural story teller, and tales unfold in my mind almost without thought. I can entertain myself by reading a book that exists only in my head, which might make me seem distant from people at times.

Ho-hum

The day started with a bang--I woke up at 10:06, my heart thumping loudly as I realized what my first class was: Theo131 with dear ol' Fr. Dacanay. Yikes. Make that a double.

That thought bolted me right out of my bed, and it was a miracle how I was able to bathe, put on my contacts and change my clothes in 10 minutes flat. Oh, what desperation can do.

Barked at the driver Ruben to drive faster and continued clutching my chest every time we encountered a stop light. Must not be late, must not be late, must not be late. I don't want to get locked out again, oh no, might result to leaving a very bad impression to Fr. D. Might even end up flunking the course.

I so don't want that.

Well God was on my side as I made it to class with just one minute to kill. Talk about making it at the last minute.

Anyway, I will certainly try my very best not to oversleep again (slept from 10pm to 10am last night). My body was just begging me for sleep to make up for sleeping at 4 am the previous night (Trying to do that Writing About Culture paper I was not able to do--but that's another story). I just hate my erratic sleeping habit.

I had lunch with Gracie, Imo and Cliff at Burger King to discuss our TV Production presentation on Dec 11 (that's exactly two weeks from now). Imo told us her idea about a skit starring Cliff as the self-loving, body-beautiful Mr. Russia, Grace as the prim and proper host with a British accent and moi as Cliff's alalay (which later changed to being Cliff's dotting mama). Our lunch out turned out fine, even though I barely touched my fish burger and Cliff's drink spilled on my pants. Why do drinks always get spilled on my clothes? *Sulks*

At McRae's TV production class, Imo and I got to perform in front of the camera. Imo played the interviewer while I, of course, was the interviewee. She asked me questions about being a writer and all that crap (we couldn't think of any other topic) and made me expound on that guy who emailed me last month regarding an article of mine, claiming to be half-American and a model, but actually turned out to be half-black(I thought he was mestizo) and a porn model (I had no doubt about it as he sent me a scary picture of him clad in tight sleevless top, with the word LIAR emblazoned across it. The worse thing about it was that he genuinely seemed to be proud of that pic).

When I got home, I had to write the articles for the org I was talking about in my last post. Why, you ask?

Well, while I was walking in front of Faura with Grace and Ann, to accompany Ann to Colayco, I encountered my nicey-nicey org editor. I tried avoiding his glance but it was no use. It was fate that brought me to his path, and there was no escaping it. He demanded where my article is, and in a demented moment I gave him a look of "Huh?" and I gingerly told him (saying the words slowly to give me time to think for the follow up question he was bound to ask) "I sent you the article already. Didn't you get it?" I asked him. "Diba the article is due yesterday?" I asked him once more-- which, of course, is not true because the article was due two weeks ago and the reason I didn't submit it was because I was not able to come around doing it. I am such a dumdum, why didn't just tell him the truth? I don't know what possesed me to tell such a blatant lie (which, i was so sure, he saw right through.. I was lying through my teeth), but I just couldn't admit to him that I DIDN'T DO those blasted articles. Tsk!

Anyway, I am done with the articles already (Thank you so much Grace for the Siopao tidbits, though I didn't do the Siopao article because I find them too dull to be written about, ehehe) and I feel a bit relieved. No more sleepless nights about frustrated editors, from now on I will submit what I am tasked to do.

Christmas is here! Hurray!

Anyway, the Christmas tree in our house has just been decorated reminding me that Christmas is nearby. If I have a genie that could grant me mulitple wishes, here are the gifts I would grant some of my friends:

Ann- Peace of mind.. to be more specific, a mind free from thoughts of her ex-boyfriend.
Rom- A cuatro report card for this sem and onwards. So that she may reach the grade requirement for cum laude.
Imo- Money and lots of it. So she would buy all the books and foodstuff that she wants and not worry about costs. Also, so she woudn't be so kuripot (although she told me that even if she does become the richest woman in the world, she would still be kuripot (stingy). I guess some habits never change, ehehe).
Grace- Money too! So she can enroll at some fancy culinary school in Switzerland and learn how to cook and bake scrumpilicious cuisine. Also, so that she may let us taste them, hehe!
Cliff and Nikki A. - To make it to the Dean's List again
Lia- A gorgeous, hot, rich, straight, sexy and smart boyfriend. Oh, and did I mention gorgeous?
Sheila-ditto
Kat- Ability to muti-task well so that she may be able to fulfill her duties as an org officer well while at the same time get excellent grades in arguably one of the toughest courses in UP
Sha- Her own car, or at least that she may learn how to drive it (she has her own car na kasi, but her brother uses it because she doesn't know how to drive).
Nik- Those abs she's been wanting to have for such a long time.
Anne- To make it to the dean's list (She's been complaining that all of her college barkada are on the List except for her. Well dear, if you're not on the list I'm pretty sure you're close to making it).
Joey- Some sense so that he might actually remember to WRITE TO ME!
Angela- A hot boy so that she might forget about that jerk V
Cher- A sweet guy that is worthy of her, not some *sshole dumdum with a girlfriend
Sam- Si JayR, para masaya!

and finally a gift also for...
Me- Enough willpower, so that I'll finally start working at shedding off those blasted 20 pounds. Pretty puh-lease genie?

Bad day

I wasn’t able to blog about it, but I had an awful day last Friday.

I got to school late, no thanks to my batugan brother and cousin, and missed Fr. Dacanay’s Theo 131 class by two friggin’ minutes! Grrrr. Fr. Dacanay has this rule that if you’re not inside the class at the end of the second bell, then don’t bother coming to his class.

My Theo 131 classroom is located on the 2nd floor by the stairs, and I was at the foot of the stairs when the second bell ended. Still, I stubbornly tried to come to his class, meekly peeking inside the room. I was greeted by Fr. D’s hand waving me to go away. Duh, what did I expect?

But still it was so frustrating, because I would be missing our first quiz for the class (we have a quiz every Friday), because I was late by 2 minutes, because my brother and cousin wouldn’t wake up on time.

After being barred to enter the classroom, I went down and met with my Rom and Cliff lining up to pay for the ACP (may I stress that it was a long line. Oh, I hate the reg system in Ateneo). My friends were v. sympathetic (and I was more than grateful for that), especially after seeing how I was on verge of tears (frustration and PMS could really well up one’s eyes)— Unlike my brother and cousin who simply smirked when they saw me outside class, knowing that I didn’t make it to Fr. D’s class (Hey! What’s so funny about that?!).

Another annoying thing about that day was this girl, an acquaintance and former classmate last year, who was trying to borrow Com 101 notes from me (actually Grace’s notes, which I borrowed from her last sem).

I just didn’t like the way she asked to borrow the notes, as if I should be grateful I’d be lending them to her. I continually asked her to meet up but she would not be bothered. She wanted me to place it in her org room, which could be a hassle to me. I told her I’d give her the notes last Wednesday but since she was so kulit (she kept on miss calling. Good lord, text nalang sana, miss call is so… annoying) and demanding (Telling me to put the notes in her org room. God, couldn’t she spare some “Please” or “Thanks”?), I lost interest gathering and bringing the bulky notes. Finally, I brought it last Friday and asked her again to meet up with me so I can give her the notes. Her reply, and I quote, “Huh? Put it nalang in (my org room).” Punyeta! I wanted to throw the notes in the trash can. But I needed the notes back since it wasn’t mine, and it was a good thing I met her on the way or she wouldn’t be getting them.

I used to wonder why my former classmates didn’t like the girl. I even defended her whenever I heard something nasty about her. “Bakit? She’s nice naman eh,” I used to say. Well, now I take back every word I’ve said. Hindi siya marunong makiusap. That girl doesn’t know the proper protocol when borrow something. Perhaps she doesn’t know the proper protocol about other things as well, which explains why she has people annoyed at her.

Anyway, moving on, I watched Harry Potter after school last Friday (Lia picked me up at school) at Galle with my High School barkada. The good news is, I liked the movie a lot (The guy playing Gilderoy Lockhart was so good! I used to think that he wasn’t gorgeous enough to play the role, but after seeing his act I couldn’t think of a better actor playing the egotistic Professor Lockhart). The bad news is I didn’t enjoy watching it that much since I had a fight with Sheila. It’s weird how our unfriendly banter started since I was just half-kidding/half-bitching at the beginning. I had a bad day, so my attitude was anything but sunny. Well, she didn’t like my bitchy attitude and she bitched back and I bitched back.

After movie, I didn’t feel like eating dinner with my barkada, what with my burning desire to lash out even more at Sheila (This is bad but…It actually felt good to bitch out… ehehe…maybe I needed that after such a horrid day) so I went home. I realized then that if I don’t patch things up then it would get worse. So I sent my friend a text message saying something like “Hoy, I don’t want us to fight, let’s just forget about what happened, yadda yadda.” Five minutes later, we’re friends again.

I should know, we’ve already done this dance a couple of times since High School. It makes me wonder, to be real, dear, true-blue friends, are fights inevitable?

Brighter note

On a brighter side, my mom’s coming home from her month-long vacation in the States with my little sister in *looks at watch*, two hours! I’m off to the airport in an hour and a half and to meet her inside NAIA since daddy was able to get special passes that would allow us to enter the airport. They also did the same for me (met up with me inside the airport) last summer when I came from Canada.

Will finally get to have that digicam (Fuji FinePix A303) I’d been drooling over. Yipee!
***
Bad writer attitude

I am deeply ashamed. This is so unlike me, I swear. I usually fulfill whatever article’s been assigned to me. This is my first time to break the trend (er, make that second pala).

To make the story short, I have an article (3 half-pager articles, actually) due last week for my org which I was not able to submit. It’s a good thing that my editor, a guy one batch lower than me, is nice enough not to bug me about it. But that makes me want to hide my head in the sand even more. Especially when I see him around at school, ehehe.

Dyahe, talaga.

What happened? I am used to whipping up articles at the last minute. But the topic assigned to me just bored me to tears. My task is actually a simple research/write up about fil-chi delicacies such as hopia and siopao. The problem was research. I had a hard time coming up with something interesting to say about the delicacies. I did some research over the Net, and I really couldn’t find anything. Also, I’m too lazy to look for people to interview (even though Grace offered her mom to help me with the hopia write-up. Thanks grace).

But actually, I think I was just tamad. I just didn’t like the topic. I know if I wanted to, I would’ve finished the articles in a jiffy. Now it’s too late (Or is it?) to submit them and I’m too embarrassed to face my editor. Oh God, I hope this won’t happen again. Not a very good attitude if I want a writing career. Must learn not be picky with writing assignments. Should consider one’s self lucky to get any assignment at all.

Slow, slow, slow

Been sigining up for the ACP through the net in an internet cafe here in Katipunan for the past two hours and, so far, only me, Grace, Imo and Nikki has been registered. We have yet to register for Rom and Ann. The good thing is, the class that we are signing up for, Kababalaghan, has more than forty slots left. The class will be handled by the well-renouned mystic and Philippine Daily Inquirer columnist Jaime Licauco. He'll be discussing the supernatural, things such as ghosts, faith healing and the like. I'm into those stuff so I'm really looking forward to the class! It's a good thing that I was able to convince my friends to go with me. Last year, I went on my own to attend the Past Lives class for ACP. Was very disappointed then since was not able to regress. Hmp.

Hopefully, I'd enjoy my ACP this year. It's actually my first time to be with friends (I was alone too for my ACP class during first year. The class was Theater Arts which, unfortunately, dissolved).

Grr... something's wrong again. Was signing up my brother for Street Dancing when the screen popped: ERROR 404. It's currently 1:00 pm and I have a 1:30 class (Ruey de Vera's Writing about Culture) at the Comm Dept. Will probably have to take the trike to make it on time.

Ok, I think I'll take the trike now. If you're reading this, thank you Grace for completing the sign up :)

Here we go again

In case you're wondering, I got to sleep at 8:30 am today. For the second straight day in a row, I am wide awake the entire night and only slept when the sun is bright and shining.

Para akong may jet-lag.

Perhaps the sandman has bypassed me... unfortunately, Mr. Sandman's doing it again tonight. I woke up at 2:30 pm still groggy due to lack of sleep (I didn't reach my minimum 9 hours of sleep) because the of the damn intercom's incessant buzzing. Forgot to put it off the hook, grrr. I picked it up and it's the secretary, telling me that Imo's on the phone. Told her to tell dear Imo that I'd call her back and snuggle to go back to la-la land. Didn't work.

Drat.

Then I realized that i missed my derma appointment.

Double drat.

Oh well, I guess I really didn't want to go. As they say, if you want something done, you'd find a thousand ways to do it, but if you don't want something done, you'd find a thousand excuses not to. Or something to that effect.

Found this interesting quiz on PJ's site.

What box do you get put in?

brought to you by Quizilla

Preppy daw ako? Hehe.

Bad trip.

There are people you instantly connect with the moment you meet them... then again, there are those who seem like strangers to you even though you've known them forever.

It's magical and refreshing to meet the former kind.

During our phone conversation, Nik mentioned that she recently met someone whom she had an instant rappor with. The guy's name's Jem, the one who picked Sheila here in my house last Halloween. Wesley's (her boyfriend) brother Pau introduced them at the carshow that she organized last month for her org.

Wala lang. It had me thinking how I haven't met those kind of people in a while. Those that seem like old friends. Hmmm...

Ode to my contact lens

What a crappy way to start the day. Woke up at 1:30 pm with my brother banging on my bedroom door so i can sign some papers to get my replacement ATM card (I lost my first one before I went to Canada last April).

Was still feeling groggy since slept at 7 am (damn insomnia).

And to top it all off, I lost one of my contact lens. I was about to put it in my eye, placing the round thing on my palm to soak it with cleaning solution, when a black ant suddenly perched on my palm, a few inches away from the contact lens. I impulsively blew the damn insect, and the lens flew as well.

Bye bye lens.

It was a premature farewell because the lens just strangely disappeared. That, or maybe i'm just a dimwit. I spent 30 minutes crouched on the bathroom floor looking for the damn thing, but it was just not there. Really weird. I got tired of looking for it and decided to talk to Nikki on the phone for a while. When I came back to the room, the maid had already cleaned it. So much for my hope to find the lens. Didn't bother to look for the colored lens anymore, it's not worth the trouble.

Anti-social dweeb

Didn't go out the whole day... decided to coop up in my room and waste another vacation day (at least, according to some people... I dont think my day is wasted at all). Blame it on the wet, dreary weather--it's making me lazy. Why is it raining so late in the year, anyway?

Been reading Sword of Shannara and it's nice, nice, nice. Doesn't matter if it's a rip off of Tokien's LOTR, the characters in this book are more endearing and Terry Brooks is a great storyteller. Anyway, Tolkien's style is a little dry. Hey, i have nothing against Tolkien, in fact, i commend the guy for spinning such a marvelous story, for creating an entirely differemt world when no one else during his time and before had done so... it's just that there are parts in his trilogy that's a little too ho hum.

Because it's sembreak, everyone wants to go out and make the most out of their precious three weeks or so. All except for moi. My HS barkada are all having lunch tomorrow followed by a trip to the movie theaters to watch Sweet Home Alabama. But not with me. Not that I don't want to see my friends or anything, whom I miss to bits since i haven't seen them in a such long time (about a month or two actually)...it's just that I don't feel like going out to the mall what with all the bombings.

Ok fine, i just don't feel like going out, period. The bleak weather is casting a spell on me, making me munch chips all day while curled up in my bead reading a good book.

My family went to Don Henrico's for dinner a while ago, but I didn't go with them. I just stayed home and read.

I don't relish the thought of enrollment two days from now and back to school in a week. I won't have time to stay home and read by then. Hihihi...

Grabe, I'm such a lazy, anti-social dweeb, har har... and I'm sure my friends would all agree.

Although I'd love to continue hibernating in my room for the rest of the week, i can't... there are things that needs to be done. Such as the derma appointment tommorow *Dread, dread* Gotta brace myself for thirty minutes of sting and torture. Cringe, cringe. Why does vanity have to be so darn painful? And don't remind me about losing weight, please. I'll start my diet next week, promise..unless i come up with another excuse not to.

Then have to drop by at Nik's place at Corinthians tomorrow or on Wednesday to make up for the times that I bailed out on gimmicks (like last Halloween eve for the Cream party and other Hallow's eve bashes, and the night before that for the BMW party, and so on...). After that, there's enrollment. And again after that, Imo is asking me to go watch a movie. Then there's dinner pa with sila Cher and Anj set on Thursday. Then an eat out with Rom and Ann. Oh and Oliver told me to watch his play (i think he helped direct it) this Sunday, and I told him I'd probably go and I'd feel guilty if I don't. Plus I have to go to Baguio too. School is next week so I have to make the most of the remaining days. Aaaagh! I know sembreak is the only time you make up for the time you and your friends haven't seen each other, but not now. Not when all i want to do is just curl up, bum around and, yes, read. Like what I've said, i'm such a lazy, anti-social dweeb.

Of Guys and Aliens

Got to talk to Angela only moments ago, and it's weird how she's not yet over V yet, whom we met a couple of months ago... Well, actually, it's not so weird. I mean the guy's hot. Well, not really hot, but he's a fine prospect.

In this day, age and country where there is a dearth of single, straight, nice and (DON'T FORGET) cute guys, V happens to be a good catch. Unfortunately, it turns out that he wasn't so nice after all. It strange how he was so friendly and sweet with Anj one minute (or, rather, week) and so distant the next. I think the popular book should be renamed, Men are from Mars, Women are from Earth. Guys can be such.... aliens. Sometimes. Nah, most of the times. But I digress.

Anyway, Anj tells me that she'll only get over him when she meets another prospect soon. In this day, age and country? Anj. honey, better prepare to wait for a loooong time.
