Here are the pics from the 2bU! party 2 weeks ago, held at Tim's lovely and colorful (as you would see in the pics) pad, which I promised Sam to post here. Sam will put these at her blog too (yes, the same pics):

1) The girls in black (too bad Cathy was partially covered)

2) The "blessed" ones, hehe...

3) Tim and his maids

4) Ugh, beehive hair! Blame the hairdresser (Anj and Maui looked great though-- why couldn't the hairdresser style my hair like theirs?)

I have some more pics. For those at the party who would like to see them, just place a holler at the Tagboard.

Can't believe the holidays are almost through.

In fact, it doesn't feel like the holiday seasons at all (on the other hand, I've been saying this line for the past few decembers). For one thing, it's unusually warm this december no thanks to el nino. It wouldn've been nice if we could hie off to somewhere cooler, but our Baguio trip has been cancelled due to various reasons.

But that's OK, the free time gave me a chance to watch the Smallville VCDs my brother received from her girlfriend for christmas. My bottom is sore from watching 29 episodes (Season 1 and up to episode eight of Season 2) in a span of four (or was it three?) days, with an average of 45 minutes per episode. Not that i was complaining--seeing Michael Rosenbaum play Lex Luthor for hours and hours was enough to appease any sore bottom. Wow, that guy can ACT. He's not really much of a looker ( at least, i think Tom Wellington, who plays Clark Kent, looks hotter), but once he's in the screen, you just can't take your eyes off him. I can't believe the guy's 30 year's old; he certainly doesn't look it.

Diba? He looks 25 (ya, biiiig difference).

It's too bad I've only discovered the wonder that is Smallville now. If I had liked it sooner (to be more specific, last summer) I could've gone to its set when i was in Canada since it's shot in Vancouver (they were shooting the first season there last April). I surfed the net for the set locations, and i noticed that have been to some of it and could've been to the others since it is just near my place. I really want to see the Luthor mansion, set in Victoria, BC--just a boat ride away from Van City.

It makes me wonder, what could've happened if I pursued my plans to be an extra then. I applied to be an extra last summer in Vancouver, also known as Hollywood North (since a lot of shows and films are shot there), for a show that requires a lot of teenagers as extras. The pay is ok ($7-8 an hour, i think) but best of all, it would've given me something to do other than to go shopping and visit the frickin tourist spots again. I was set to go, but at the last minute backed out. I chickened out because I was going alone. If there was a chance that that show could've been Smallville ...waaaah! Sayang, I'd give anything to see Lexy. Hee hee.

Watched Mano Po with Lia and Nik last week. It's really good, i had to fight to keep my tears from running. Was v. surprised to see how good Ara Mina can act; i especially liked the scene when she was beside her lola's deathbed. Despite rave reviews though, i didn't like Maricel Soriano's acting. She was angry most of the time and by the film's end, she didn't give enough justification for the audience to sympathize with her. Her character pa naman has a lot of potential.

It just hit me now: I haven't been with my high school barkada in, like, ages (OK two months). It's strange how we always thought we'd be tight and all. But now we rarely get to talk and when we do...sometimes we run out of things to talk about.

At those few times we get to talk, we talk about the things we have in common: high school. Or to be more precise, the people in high school--who's dating who, who broke up with who, who's rumored to be preggy and all that stuff. It makes me sad--not that I don't like talking to my friends about those stuff (hehe, guilty na chismosa). I do. But sana we have more to talk about. Yes, we share our college lives with each other, pero iba talaga eh. It's like telling someone a movie that only you have seen.

My mom said no regarding the trip to Shanghai this Christmas *sulk*. But that's ok, sa summer nalang so the trip would be longer. Hopefully we'd also go to Beijing as well. At least we'd get to go out of town, doesn't matter if we're going to Baguio again.

Funny kanina, during my Writing about Culture class we were talking about our most memorable gift and I just had to laugh at some of my classmate's answers.

"One Christmas, my uncle gave me a money envelope that's really thick. Syempre excited ako kasi marami akong pera but when I opened it twenty pesos lang laman!"

"My most memorable gift is *thinks for a long time*... chocnut. Bigay sa akin ng driver ko" (basta, it's so funny the way she said it).

"When i was six, I remember receiving P500 from Santa Claus" *Then the whole class goess "Awww!"* Anong "awww!" disappointed nga ako hindi ako nabigyan ng marshmallow na hiningi ko eh, kaya sya memorable."

Will be watching the Lord of the Rings premiere with Angela tomorrow, wheee! I'm excited already. Why do we have to wait till 2004 for the third installment of the trilogy?

Please Santa, I've been nice... gimme a trip to China this Christmas

Wheeee! One week nalang and it's Christmas break na! Somehow, even though I know the jolly fat guy in the red suit doesn't really exist, I can't stop wishing for Santa Claus.

If Mr. Santa can grant me a wish, can he please give me a free trip to wherever for Christmas? Anywhere basta out of town! But preferably to China.

I've been pestering my mom for a trip to China this Christmas break, but she's still noncommittal about it. The plane ticket to Shanghai this December is just $200 ($400 actually, but it's buy one take one because of the promo) and my tita works in a five star hotel there so she can provide us lodging for free during our stay in Shanghai(hopefully at least a week)! I even offered to pay for the plane ticket...pero...pero parang ayaw niya . She wants to go to Korea kasi (partly for business reasons), and I don't want to go there. It's so cold this time of the year (as in brrrrr...) and the food sucks (at least, Korean food is not my type).

So if not, I can take a raincheck, just as long as we are going there this summer... Pretty puh-lease? I want to see China again, I am just so in love with that place. Imo and some of my friends should know, diba friends?

Punyeta. I am seething mad. I can't believe that this Theology groupmate of mine failed to submit the paper that our group slaved for several days! I just found out about it from Ann. I really didn't like that guy from the beginning because of the way he was acting (pare, yabang!) but Ann said he's responsible naman daw (she should know since they're blockmates). But apparently, he's not responsible enough to submit the paper on time. He even submitted it in the wrong place, for crying out loud! And his work is not that good since he rushed his part for the paper.

Our teacher, the terror of Ateneo Fr. Dacanay would never accept it, knowing his ways.

But the worse thing of all is that I have to be groupmates with that obnoxious guy for about three or so more papers. Talk about Ugh.

Sorry, just letting off steam. Now excuse me while I take a deep breathe and count to ten. *one...two...*

We celebrated my dad's 55th birthday at our house last Friday. Thank you Grace, Ann and Imo for going. Here's our pic which I promised to post here:

Hi Sam, please teach me how to put a tagboard in my blog. I'm so busy these days and I barely have time to sit down and prettify this blog. I'll surely have time this X'mas break (yehey, lapit na!). Gimme a holler if you want to tag along to my gym with me.

Aaaaah! I can't believe it's Christmas already! Christmas means March is near. March means i'll be graduating soon (in 2004 pa actually). But...but...I don't want to graduate yet!

On a brighter note, it's a good thing I did my x'mas shopping early so no need for me to brace the crowded tiangges. Actually, "crowded "is an understatement. If you don't believe me, I suggest you drop by the Greenhills tiangge next week. By then, almost the whole Metropolis will be there to shop, so much so that you won't know where one person ends and another person begins.

I want to go someplace far far away for the Christmas break. Or at least stay anywhere but in Manila. I've always spent Christmas in the city, and I want this holiday season to be different.

A lot of people had told me that the Japanese flick "The Ring" is a good. Heard that it's causing even guys to scream their heads off. I'm curious. Will probably see it with Nikki A. this Saturday.

Haaaay... had the busiest time these past few days. Classes had just begun three weeks ago but papers and tests keeps pouring in ceaselessly. My 3-5 pages philo paper (topic: discuss Ontological difference and Phenomenology, then reflect), for instance, was due a while ago and, theoretically, I was supposed to finished it by last night. But nooo... I was so busy downloading the Stephen Speak's Passenger Seat from the link I found at Sam's blog and also (no reactions please) the Ketchup Song. Ha ha, I can see some of my friends raising their eyebrows.

Anyway, instead of doing the darn paper last night, I told myself that I'll just wake up at 4am. Knowing myself, I knew I wouldn't wake up at that time but I convinced myself that this time I would. Of course, I didn't (big surprise). Instead I got up at exactly 6:10 am and my philo class starts at 7:30. Uh-oh. I hate cramming philo papers--especially since I (and practically everyone else in that blasted 120 person class) don't listen to the teacher who never fails to steer the lecture to talk about himself, and Europe (where, he feels, he should've been born). I was still able to submit the paper though, although I wouldn't exactly call it my best work. I was also 45 minutes late for class, but the teacher seem to didn't mind, thanks goodness. My friend Rom was so surprised that I was able to complete the paper in such a short time. Well, miracles happen when you have the deadline is breathing down your neck.

Anyway, I've finally witnessed how powerful the media can be yesterday. My article came out which featured Gracie's pastry business, Chocolate Fantasy, and as early as 7 am she was receiveing orders already. She was totally swamped with orders and inquiries, and her cell phone kept on buzzing nonstop (I should know, I was with her the whole day). She was even offered a mall space--and that was even before those people have sampled her goodies. Galing.

***
Thanks to Sam, I finally know how to upload pics! I'm posting the pictures of Imo and Rom again, taken at my house the last time they went here (when they went to "surprise" me because they happen to be in the neighborhood doing their theology project.) . I posted it already before, but it didn't appear. Here it is again now, thanks to this site:

Can you believe Imo prefers the 2nd picture?(She's the one sitting down). She doesn't like pictures where she is smiling, mukhang fake daw. If you don't believe me, you guys should see her ID pictures--all of them!

Just came back from the gym. Congratulate me guys, I've already been there four times. I think I'm getting the hang of working out. Not too long ago, I dreaded even the thought of exercising. But now I can't wait to feel that adrenaline rush again, which you get when your heart rate is up. It also helped that my trainer a while ago was such a cutie, hee hee.

I think I'm going again tomorrow.
